Ted Cocking is attempting to introduce a bacteria to plants which will allow them to capture nitrogen from the atmosphere.
If he's successful, it could mean an end to the use of harmful fertilizers used to grow many crops.
In this film Ted is analysing plant cells to see how effective his processes have been.
